Around the Homefields - 1 - RFK
On 6 June I went to the Washington Nationals v Pittsburgh Pirates baseball game. Here is my collection of pictures from that night.
Two Nationals players, Dmitri Young (top) warming up and Ryan Church swinging.
The field of play. Great seats behind home plate.
Guess who won (courtesy of a wild pitch in the 9th)
RFK Stadium before the game.
Warm-ups in the warm sunshine. RFK is perfectly acceptable but the Nationals are moving out and the old home of the Redskins has definitely seen better days.

Hertha Berlin v Energie Cottbus
I attended this game on 6 October 2007 at the Olympia Stadion in Berlin. It was a poor game, finishing 0-0. My main site has pictures from the game, but I've supplemented it here with some more. When I get the beloved's pictures copied, there is a cracker of the missed penalty I'll load.
Cottbus' amazing away following. I found out subsequently that Cottbus hail from around 75 miles south east of the capital. Explains much.
Scarves. A common theme. Lots and lots of them. Held aloft pre-game.
The two teams walk out pre-game. Quite like both of the kits.
Hertha with a first half corner. I know, not very exciting.
The kick-off. Pantelic, my eurostriker in the fantasy league is the long-haired idiot.
The ref has just given a dreadful penalty decision. Cottbus are not happy.

Outside The Grounds - NFL - Part 1
M & T Stadium, home of the Baltimore Ravens. All I have to say is..... I hope it doesn't rain there very often.

My first picture, actually taken on my mobile phone (so that puts the header of this blog off on the wrong foot right away), is of a far away tribute to the world's leading sports journalist, who, despite slagging off players for excess, has never been seen drunk on the Isle of Dogs.....
